Icy Strait offers the perfect setting for hiking in the old growth forest, with thousands of sea birds and the largest summertime population of humpback whales in Alaska! This reliable and comfortable 34-passenger adventure vessel carries Zodiac shore craft and a fleet of 2-person kayaks. After active days spent paddling, hiking and wildlife spotting along the remote coast, you return to the vessel each evening for hot meals, comfortable cabins and hot showers. Itinerary

Six days / five night cruise with one night Glacier Bay Lodge
Day 01

JUNEAU , FLY TO GLACIER BAY
Arrive in Juneau
independently, then meet for your flight to Glacier Bay . Once you're settled at Glacier Bay Lodge, explore the surrounding area. In the evening, meet your fellow traveling companions with a special get-acquainted reception. Enjoy dinner on your own in the Lodge's dining room. Overnight at Lodge. R

Day 02 

GLACIER BAY , BOARD VESSEL, SEA KAYAKING
Board vessel today. Our Captain and crew are kayaking experts on secret out-of-the-way places that offer the greatest likelihood for discovery and adventure. L, D

Days 03 - 05

GLACIER BAY , SEA KAYAKING
Do you want to see bears feeding along the shoreline? Or hear whales singing? Your kayak guide can point you in the best direction for prime wildlife viewing. Paddle leisurely with your guide around Glacier Bay , or push to kayak far distances. Glacier Bay is ready for you, and remember, there is a hot meal waiting for you back on board.

Have you seen the ice calving into the water? What about a bald eagle diving for dinner? There is an everyday show in Glacier Bay waiting to be discovered. Keep your eyes open as you glide over the waters in your kayak. B, L, D (daily)

Day 06

ICY STRAIT
Spend your day exploring with your guide by sea kayak or hiking ashore. On either side of this pristine waterway are tiny inlets and isolated coves perfect for your backcountry, off-vessel exploration. Plus, Icy Strait is a prime spot for humpback whale viewing. B, L, D

Day 07

JUNEAU & RETURN HOME
This morning, your active adventure cruise comes to an end. Disembark your vessel in Glacier Bay in time for your return flight to Juneau . B

7 day/6 night itinerary includes a 6 day/5 night cruise in private cabin and one pre cruise night at Glacier Bay Lodge. Guided exploration and use of kayaks; all gear, and all meals onboard the ship. Prices do not include: air transportation to/from Juneau to Gustavus; tips to ship and shore personnel, liquor or items of a personal nature.

Important Notes

The sequence of activities may vary with each departure depending on the changing wildlife-viewing opportunities, tides and weather conditions. No previous experience is necessary for kayaking or hiking adventures. Passengers should be in relatively good physical condition, have an adventurous spirit, and the desire for a backcountry cruise experience unlike any other. Recommended packing list with outdoor adventure gear is available on request.
